A stones throw away from the town of Yirgacheffe, just by the Toracho river, lies the village of Konga Wete Webanchi. With good access to water and electricity, it’s easy to see why Meseret and Abraham built their new washing station here. With more than 40 years experience working with Ethiopian coffee, Meserat and Abraham had their own ideas on how it should be done, so started their own company, Primrose.
They saw the massive production advantage electricity gives a washing station, allowing then to process coffee through the night, usually a difficult feat for a washing station. More importantly, they saw the need to work with the community, not just alongside it. To that end, Primrose and Project Origin hep out the neighbouring local schools by providing teachers and staff the support they need to help the local children.
This washed coffee from Konga showcases the delicate side of Yirgacheffe coffee. It’s gentle, with light tea flavours and a bright lemon and malic apple acidity, stone fruit notes and a lasting sweetness.

What we’ve been listening to
Before we turn on the coffee roaster in the morning, there's one thing we just can't go without.. music. We curated several playlists for you to enjoy while sipping. Some are perfect to relax and wind down, others can get a bit loud and noisy from time to time. Some have even been put together by the farmers we collaborate with. Keep on rocking in the free world!
